Hao Li is known for his seminal work in real-time facial performance capture, hair scanning, and dynamic full body capture. His work in facial animation was the basis of Animoji in Apple's iPhone X. Hao Li worked at Weta Digital, collaborated on the creation of Paul Walker's digital re-enactment technology in the film Fast and Furious and was a research lead at Industrial Light & Magic / Lucasfilm. Voted one of the top young innovators by MIT Technology Review in 2013. Frequently seen in media around the world, in Davos, Dubai and even Hollywood where he recently scanned Will Smith's face, his work has been ranked #1 in the top 10 list of computer graphics research over the past five years by Microsoft Academic.
