VFXRIO 2016 - ILLUSION AND ART: THE MAGIC OF VISUAL EFFECTS – MUSEUM OF TOMORROW

The second edition of VFXRio brought together experts from Brazil, Hollywood, and Bollywood at the Museum of Tomorrow. VFXRio 2016 unveiled some of the secrets behind the effects that impress on the small screen (games) and big screen (cinema and TV) on November 28th and 29th. The event featured producers from "Game of Thrones" and "Star Wars," and a discussion with Brazilian, European, Hollywood, and Bollywood producers. It was sponsored by Telecine with support from the Museum of Tomorrow and the Secretariat of Science and Technology of the City of Rio de Janeiro. In addition to the VFXRio lectures, the Museum of Tomorrow hosted an exhibition on the history of special and visual effects in cinema: the exhibition "Illusion and Art: The Magic of Visual Effects in Cinema," which was on display until December 11th. The exhibition featured details from 16 films, from Fritz Lang's classic "Metropolis" (1927) to more recent works such as "Star Trek: Beyond." Guests represented the following organizations: Globo, PIXOMONDO, Industrial Light and Magic, Strotostorm, Nerdeo, Design LAB, Screenyug Creations PVT, and ACM Signgraph.
