VFXRio 2017 brings big names in visual effects production to Rio

The third edition of VFXRio took place on December 8 and 9 at the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Tomorrow. It featured Dan Lemmon (WETA VFX), winner of the 2017 Oscar for visual effects for the film Mogli - The Wolf Boy. Lemmon helped develop the technique called performance capture, which records the performance of real actors and creates the movements of fictional characters such as Cesar, from Planet of the Apes, played by Andy Serkis and Richard Clegg (MPC) presented the technical and creative challenges he faced to create the digital character Rachael, played by Sean Young, in the 1982 film Blade Runner, a challenge that took nine months to achieve and won the Oscar in 2018. VFXRio 2017 featured lectures, panels and workshops. The guests at VFXRio 2017 represented the following organizations: Globo, Intel, NVIDIA, Weta VFX, MPC, SuperUber, Quanta Post, Museum of Tomorrow, Mistika VR and ACM Siggraph
