👽 If aliens landed tomorrow, how would humanity react?
@hashem.alghaili created this video using AI tools and gave it a hilarious - and perhaps even plausible - twist on how people might react to the arrival of extraterrestrial visitors.
Some would panic. Others would start vlogging. Many would make lives trying to get closer to the ship. And, of course, the famous "we're all in this together" could not be missing.
The video was made with Google's Veo 3, the new AI video model that generates high-quality images and sounds from simple text commands. Dialog, music, sound effects - all generated by AI. And the results are getting more and more realistic.
We've reached the point where anyone with an idea can use AI to bring it to life.
Video generation: Veo 3
Sound effects: Veo 3 + ElevenLabs
Music: Suno AI
ChatGPT: Optimizing prompts
Time invested in the project: 8 hours, by 1 person (@hashem.alghaili)
Total cost in credits: Approximately 70 dollars (USD)

#poorthings (2023) e #metropolis (1927) have more in common than first meets the eye. Both explore visual exaggeration and symmetry in their compositions, leading the viewer into a surreal world where shapes and movements have an essential narrative weight. The use of framing and lighting in both films not only builds their universes, but also reinforces themes such as creation, obsession and dehumanization. The wide shots in Metropolis reveal a city crushed by machinery, while in Poor Things, the more stylized compositions plunge us into the emotional chaos of the characters.

Stanley Kubrick, like David Lynch, refused to discuss the meanings of any of his films. But in this incredibly rare moment of candid conversation, Kubrick opens up with Japanese journalist Junichi Yao about the meaning of '2001: A Space Odyssey.
The interview was recorded at Elstree Studios in London the very same week 'The Shining' was released in UK cinemas. Elstree Studios is where Kubrick filmed '2001' and 'The Shining.'

@bbc_archive "Everything that came over this new magic box, the radio, was being swallowed"
#OnThisDay 70 years ago, Orson Welles spoke about his famous radio adaptation of
H.G. Wells' 'The War of the Worlds'. He claimed the 1938 broadcast, that depicted a Martian invasion of Earth, caused mass hysteria (a debated claim). Welles also said that one of the aims of the broadcast was to highlight people shouldn't believe everything they hear on the radio.
This episode of Orson Welles' Sketch Book was broadcast on May 22, 1955.

Isaac Asimov predicted it in 1965-and it's happening now. Humans and machines are merging, from mind-controlled prosthetics to Neuralink and human-like robots. A hybrid future is no longer science fiction. What he overlooks is the lack of a clear definition of efficiency vs. control

🤖ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE ARTS
Andy Serkis, Gollum from "The Lord of the Rings", plays the character Renoir in the role-playing game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Famous for his work with motion capture in movies, the actor spoke to CNN about another technology: artificial intelligence.
For Serkis, the use of AI in audiovisuals is not a problem, as long as it's not just to cut costs. He argues that the technology can be used positively.
