🚨🧘♂️ - @wired OpenAI will soon let adults create erotic content in ChatGPT. Experts say that could lead to "emotional commodification," or horniness as a revenue stream.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently posted on social media that an update coming to ChatGPT this December will allow the chatbot to engage in "even more" types of content like "erotica for verified adults." In a follow-up post, Altman said erotica was just one aspect of OpenAI's larger "freedom for adults" stance and that his startup was "not the elected moral police of the world."
OpenAI lifting these restrictions on mature content will not only change what the bot is allowed to generate for its millions of adult users. ChatGPT's horny era will be a major realignment in how people form connections with the AI tool, adding another enticing layer of interaction that could keep users on the platform.
"It's normalizing people sharing very intimate information with chatbots," says Julie Carpenter, a research fellow at Cal Poly who focuses on AI and attachment. "Sharing your innermost thoughts, desires, sexual proclivities, fetishes, adventures."
This decision is a major shift for the startup, which previously attempted to block its AI tool from generating smutty outputs. In the past, at least one developer who built X-rated companions using OpenAI's models was struck with a cease-and-desist letter from the company.
OpenAI acknowledged its receipt of a list of questions from WIRED asking for more details about this planned change to ChatGPT, but did not comment or answer our questions.

The Voyager Golden Records are 12-inch, gold-plated phonograph records attached to the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft, launched in 1977 to carry a "time capsule" of sounds and images from Earth into deep space for extraterrestrial civilizations to discover. Chaired by Carl Sagan, a committee selected a diverse collection of sights and sounds, including music, natural sounds, and greetings in 55 languages, to portray the diversity of life and culture on our planet. Buoyant Choreographies: Harmonies of Light, Sound, and Human Connection by @dennishongrobot debuts at the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Robotics & Automation in Atlanta.
This interactive installation brings buoyant bipedal robots to life-helium balloons with articulated legs that float and play in the exhibition space. Visitors are invited to guide their movements, lights, and expressions through touch, airflow, or gamepads, creating a playful and ever-changing dialogue between people and machines.

Promoted by the National Library Foundation (FBN) - linked to the Ministry of Culture (MinC) - the event will feature speakers such as the partner, founder and creative director of the SuperUber agency, Liana Brazil, and the technologist, director and co-founder of the VFXRio festival. The live broadcast can be accessed on the FBN's YouTube channel (@fundacaobibliotecanacional ).
Liana Brazil's presentation, entitled "AI transforms authorship and artistic co-authorship", will last between 10 and 15 minutes. Matteo Moriconi's presentation will last the same amount of time and will be entitled "Philosophy, science, art, history, culture: the converging future." After the presentations, there will be a 20-minute chat with the audience.

The most carioca movie of Alfred Hitchcock isn't The Man Who Knew Too Much, but Notorious-after all, what could be more Rio than an Englishwoman entangled in samba, spies, and the blurred line between romance and conspiracy
In the 1940s, Rio de Janeiro appeared in Notorious (1946), directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The film is set in Brazil and stars Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman.
Despite the beautiful images of Rio, the movie was actually shot in the United States. Hitchcock preferred working in a studio, so he sent William Dorfman, the second-unit director, to Rio to capture exterior shots. These images were later superimposed onto scenes with the actors.
The film features stunning views of Copacabana, Cinelândia, Glória, Sugarloaf Mountain, Guanabara Bay, and the Theatro Municipal - a faithful portrayal of the city at the time, free of stereotypes.
Notorious is a classic Hitchcock thriller. The plot follows Alicia (Bergman), the daughter of a Nazi spy who, in an attempt to redeem her family's name, is recruited by the U.S. government to infiltrate a group of ex-Nazis living in Brazil after World War II.
The movie was nominated for two Oscars - Best Supporting Actor (Claude Rains) and Best Original Screenplay (Ben Hecht) - and also competed for the Palme d'Or at the very first Cannes Film Festival.
One fun fact: Hitchcock cleverly bypassed the strict Hays Code, which banned kisses lasting more than three seconds. Define VFXRio Lunapark Metaverse Experience: From a comic book page to Virtual Reality, a metaverse designed by Matteo Moriconi. This essay introduces the ideas and semiotics behind this virtual world. Moriconi calls on influences from Warhol to Roy Lichtenstein, from science fiction writer Stanislaw Lem to sci-fi film Inception, from Giorgio Vasari to Jean-Paul Sartre to explore the invention, the concept, behind his new metaverse, which is populated with artworks and structures that he created through the AI platform, Midjourney.
