
MARCELO SIQUEIRA (SICA)
He began his career in the audiovisual field at age 15. In 1998, as part of the Casablanca Group, he was invited to develop TeleImage, the group's entertainment division, which would become the largest film post-production company in Latin America. He pioneered the use of Digital Intermediation technology with the films *O Auto da Compadecida* and *Gêmeas* in 1999, and in 2001 he was again a pioneer in the use of HD technology throughout the production process of *Xuxa e os Duendes*. Sica brought the concept of 2k and 4k post-production to TeleImage. In 2010, he won the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro for the visual effects of the feature film *Besouro*, by João Daniel Tikhomiroff, and was nominated for a Goya Award (Spain) for the feature film *LOPE*, by Andrucha Waddington. In 2011, the year he took over as technical director of Mistika, he competed again in the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro (Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix) with the film "Eu e Meu Guarda chuva" (Me and My Umbrella) by Tony Vanzolini. He was executive producer of the series "Camera Selvagem" (Wild Camera) with Christian Dimitrius. In 2017, he won the Grande Prêmio de Cinema (Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix) for supervising the visual effects of Pequeno Segredo (Little Secret).
In 2019, he was invited to supervise and produce the effects for the 80-episode daily telenovela Jezabel for Record TV, managing a team of over 100 people, 75 of whom were exclusively dedicated to visual effects. With more than 15 nominations for the major Brazilian film awards in his career, he won in 2019 for the film O Grande Circo Místico by Carlos Diegues.
