Larry Bafia

An animator and educator who works with various media, Larry began his career in stop motion and claymation with Will Vinton Studios in Portland, Oregon. In the Vinton studio for nearly a decade, Larry has worked on stop motion projects such as California raisins, Michael Jackson's moonwalker and countless other commercial projects before joining PDI.
During his seven year stint as Commercial Animation Director at PDI/Dreamworks, Larry directed commercials for many top clients including Coca-Cola, Sega, Intel, Kraft and Target
While working at PDI/DreamWorks, Larry was also a sequence animator in several successful films, including Antz and Batman & Robin and participated in the Mission Impossible II effects team among other films. At Warner Brothers, Larry served as an animator for the Stop Motion development team at Tim Burton's long Mars Attacks.
From 2002 to 2008, Larry was head of animation and visual effects department at the Vancouver Film School. Larry also served as Vice president of faculty and Development at Vanarts and was director of the computer animation Festival of Siggraph 2018. He is currently a member of the senior faculty in the digital media master's program at the Center for Digitalis, Vancouver BC.
