Marcela Sabino

Marcela Sabino is the Director of the Activities Laboratory at the Museum of Tomorrow. She is an innovation specialist and studies the impact of exponential technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital fabrication, robotics, biohacking, big data, and the Internet of Things on society. A graduate in Public Policy and Administration from Harvard University (USA), Marcela primarily works creating strategies and solutions for complex problems using emerging technologies, focusing on social development, in organizations such as the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the UN, and large international companies.

A platform that is challenging a new generation of artists. With the aim of fostering this creative landscape in Rio de Janeiro, the Laboratory of Activities of Tomorrow (LAA) and Intel, the space's technology partner, selected 15 people – including digital artists, sound designers, architects, 3D environment developers, and virtual reality enthusiasts – to participate in the “Experimental VR Bootcamp – Immersive Sensorialities” program. For eight weeks, participants explored the limits of the senses through the creation of interactive immersive environments using art, neuroscience, and sound design with a transdisciplinary group, promoting unusual experiences. This lecture will explore the process and results of this experimentation.
