Luiz Velho

Luiz Velho is a researcher at Impa – Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics national and leader of the Visgraf laboratory. One of the pioneers of graphics Computing in Brazil, he performed the first Brazilian computer animation film in 1978 and was guest researcher of the National film Board of Canada in 1982. He was also a professor at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and a visiting researcher at Microsoft Research Asia. He has a master's degree at MIT Media Lab and a PhD from the University of Toronto. Worked at Fantastic Animation Machine in New York and TV Globo of Rio de Janeiro with development of 3d graphics systems and visual effects.
